Sevilla, PRE horse capital of the world!

SICAB engines arerewing and roaring with the participation of more than 300 stud farm

Next Tuesday, the 3rd of December, the 23rd PRE Trade Show opens its gates

One thousand, one hundred horses from more than 300 stud farms, coming from thirteen countries will be on hand at SICAB, the International Purebred Spanish Horse Trade Show. The event runs from the 3rd to the 8th of December in the city Sevilla, and will offer a number of novelties: this year, there is a special, afternoon-only access ticket to the fairgrounds; on Tuesday, the 3rd, anyone with official proof they are unemployed may access the grounds free of charge. Also, there will be a “mini stud farm” so that young and old can see how horses live out in the country fields. This year, SICAB honors the Virgin of the Dew Brotherhood from Triana (a renowned neighborhood in Sevilla); this brotherhood, which has special ties with SICAB, celebrates the second centennial of its founding.

No two horses are the same. When assessing a horse, a number of qualities must be taken into consideration: obedience, elegance or strength. A horse must be at least four years old before it can be ridden, and about ten years old to be completely trained. Throughout these years, there is a team of people at the horse’s side; this group must share a common passion and philosophy while at the same time know and understand the horse. This lifestyle has become a book: Work and Passion by Work Style. The introduction is by the President of ANCCE, Javier Conde; a copy of the book will be given to the Mayor of Sevilla, the Honorable Juan Ignacio Zoido, who will officially inaugurate the SICAB with a number of other authorities. All in all, some 5000 people have been summoned—including breeders, celebrities, well-known people from the Andalusian cultural and sports scene, as well as PRE enthusiasts—to enjoy the SICAB 2013 show, with some of the best acts in the world, where horses will dance hip-hop and jump through fire.

Once again, the city of Sevilla will house some of the best Purebred Spanish Horses in the world from among the 209,314 horses on record at the end of 2012, distributed among sixty countries, as stated in the PRE Stud Book Report, presented at the 41st ANCCE General Assembly, held in the capital city last May. Trade Shows and Fairs dedicated to the Purebred Spanish Horse are held the world over. Some of the most interesting are those held in City of Industry (USA), Aguas Calientes (Mexico), Beaucaire-Gerd (France), San Marcos (Nicaragua), San José (Costa Rica), Quito (Ecuador), Gloucesershire (United Kingdom), Puebla (México), Antwerp (Belgium), Heeze (Holland), Stronsholm (Sweden), Valle del Bravo (México) or Verona (Italy), as well as those held in almost all the provinces of Spain. SICAB is the final for the various national and international competitions held throughout 2013.

This year, there are a number of advances at SICAB in terms of images and structure. Thanks to the collaboration of ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño, the venue has new structural designs and professionalization, in addition to never-seen-before special effects for the show. To show the world of horses surrounded by natures, there will be a “mini stud farm behind Pavilion 1.”

This year, SICAB will be in your smartphone. An application, available for both iPhone and Android, will allow you to follow all of the events taking place, including exhibitors, the show, news, results, etc. Moreover, SICAB.TV expands its coverage with a new TV platform broadcasting in HD; it integrates social networks though App SICAB, as well as live broadcasts of the competitions accompanied with online classifications.
