Initial ANCCE Golden Jubilee Events Conclude
ANCCE celebrated the first of several Golden Jubilee commemorative events with an extensive program of activities throughout two days. Thursday the 23rd of June, at 8:30 pm, the President of ANCCE, Jose Juan Morales, together with Vice Presidents Gregorio Aranda and Carlos Bohorquez, welcomed more than 100 breeders at the entry of the Real Tesoro Winery. Owners, the Estevez family, kindly offered their facilities for the enjoyment of everyone with a guided tour, followed by dinner and a Flamenco Show.
On Friday, the 24th of June at 11:00 am, the organizers ferried 122 ANCCE breeder members to Cortijo Garrapilos, to begin the Military Stud Farm visit, guided by Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Gomez Pascual, and conclude at Cortijo de Vicos. At this later farm—Cortijo Vicos—guests enjoyed seeing magnificent horses—both stallions and mares—owned by the Military Stud Farm, as well as two exhibitions of stallions under saddle and in hand. Also, guests visited stud farm facilities and the Carriage Hall, where the tour concluded. A luncheon was served at Hacienda La Peñuela, where the Bohorquez family offered members of ANCCE the opportunity to enjoy a satisfying meal.
After resting for a few hours, at 9:00 pm, the official ceremony began to honor the founding breeders. This event was held within unparalleled setting—at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art Foundation. Guests were welcomed with an equestrian show, that offered two performances from their show "How the Andalusian Horses Dance:" "Paso de Dos" (Two-Step) with Belen Bautista riding the PRE Yunque and Juan Jose Verdugo in the saddle of Infante; Rafael Soto holding the reins of Adivino performed "Olympic Fantasy."
The President of ANCCE inaugurated the occasion with a Golden Jubilee speech and praising all ANCCE members and presidents who have ensured that after half a century, ANCCE continues to be a living and active organization and one that has become a reference for many other associations dedicated to farm animal species. President Morales began his speech with the following words: "It is more than just a well-deserved tribute to the breeders who, in 1972, created ACCE; as time passed, the word National was incorporated, thus adding the N to its acronym. A year ago, the Association became Royal, thanks to the generosity of Spain’s King Felipe VI."
The President honored founding members with 19 commemorative medals by prestigious goldsmith Marmolejos from Sevilla. Each founding member and their families accepted and greatly appreciated the gift that expressed gratitude to those who have made 50 years of Purebred Spanish Horse history possible.
The final touch for this event was a gala dinner in the gardens of the Abrantes Palace, followed by a Flamenco Show.
ANCCE would like to express its gratitude to each of the organizations mentioned, together with their respective managers: the Estevez family, owners of Bodega Real Tesoro; Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Gómez Pascual at the Military Stud Farm; the Bohorquez family, owners of Hacienda La Peñuela and Jorge Ramos, director of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art Foundation, for their tireless efforts and for providing the facilities where the various activities were held. Undoubtedly, they have played an essential role in making these two days of breeder harmony and equestrian activities—events that conclude the first of many other venues to celebrate the ANCCE Golden Jubilee—a major success.
Currently, ANCCE is working on other commemorative events, including a day at Yeguada La Cartuja (Jerez) in October. You will be provided with timely information as the various activities are confirmed.
