From the 2nd to the 7th of December at the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones (Fairgrounds) in Sevilla

Yesterday morning, at the Santo Tomas Hall of the Sevilla City Hall, the 24th edition of SICAB was officially presented. Once again, the event will be held in the city of Sevilla. The press conference to present the occasion was presided over by the Alderman for Employment, Finances, Festivities and Tourism, Gregorio Serrano. He was flanked by the President of ANCCE—Juan Tirado, the Commercial Manager in Andalusia for Banco Santander—Angel Castellanos, and the Managing Director of FIBES—Gaspar Sáez.

This year, SICAB 2014 is dedicated to ANCCE breeders, who are well worthy of praise for their exceptional bravery in the light of the current crisis. Despite it all, ANCCE breeders have been steadfast and faithful to SICAB as their main showcase.

SICAB will once again integrate the latest in technology for smartphones, with an application for both iOS and Android. With this app, people will be able to follow all the events that unfold at SICAB from a cell phone. Online access to watch all of the competitions live and pre-recorded is also possible at www.sicab.tv

ANCCE, being aware of the difficult economic situation in Spain, will once again repeat a number of special initiatives. The first of such initiatives focuses on those without jobs; on Tuesday, December 2, upon showing some type of ID and an official document indicating the person’s redundancy, access to the grounds is free of charge. Initiative number two is the possibility of purchasing an afternoon only ticket, with a 33% discount, for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of December. The afternoon ticket is valid as of 4:00 pm. Wednesday, December 3rd is Children’s Day, in which case, 4000 children from 62 schools in Sevilla and its province will be on the grounds.

SICAB will have a specific area for children, with ponies so that even the smallest can access the equestrian world, but adapted to their size.

ANCCE will move forward with its efforts to universalize the PRE as a breed. With this in mind and thanks to the success of stud farms abroad participating in previous editions, this season will see the participation of a number of countries: the United States, Guatemala, Mexico, France, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Breeders from the US and Mexico will have their own stands at the venue.

At SICAB, in addition to the Conformation Final, there will be a variety of other competition sports, all of which have been promoted by ANCCE. These include: Dressage, Doma Vaquera, Alta Escuela (Spanish High School), Carriage Driving, Show Jumping and Exhibitions.
This year’s show is well worthy of mention, thanks to the participation of a world-class equestrian. Lorenzo—renowned the world over—will leave everyone watching the show in awe. He arrives from France where he has just participated in some of the most elite, international equestrian events.

In conclusion, “PRE Awards” will be granted to a number of distinguished personalities and breed ambassadors.
