SICAB 2010: 20 years of PRE Horses
Approximately 200,000 people had visited SICAB as of 4 pm today!
The 20th anniversary of the International PRE Horse Fair (SICAB), organized by ANCCE, the National PRE Breeders’ Association of Spain, has covered its expectations with a total of 200,000 visitors throughout this past week. Despite the poor weather conditions, more people were on hand for the event on Saturday than any other day.
All in all, there were 913 participating horses from 303 stud farms; the commercial stands were all occupied. Likewise, there were 374 accredited journalists from ten different countries, including Spain, Brazil, France, Great Britain, the USA, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Germany and Sweden.
Being a noteworthy anniversary, SICAB has honored the city of Sevilla in appreciation for the support provided over the past 20 years. At this 20th edition, SICAB has sought to return some of the many attentions received.
Wednesday was Children’s Day. The venue welcomed 5113 children from 77 schools located in the city of Sevilla and the province. The 4th SICAB Drawing Contest—“Horses and their surroundings”—was held this same day.
In the evening, Her Royal Highness, Princess Elena, officially inaugurated SICAB. She was accompanied by a number of local, city, provincial and Regional authorities.
Coinciding with SICAB, 400 veterinarians descended upon the venue for the 11th International Equine Surgical Convention. The convention counted on the participation of a number of reputed, international veterinarians.
“ANIVERSARIO” (Anniversary), one of the most important attractions at SICAB, was a true success. On Saturday, there were two shows; on Sunday, the box office had to hang up the “no tickets available” sign. Some 5,500 people enjoyed the show at each of the performances.
Meanwhile, http://www.sicab.tv/ duplicated the number of hits in comparison with last year to reach 180,000 visits. Viewers came from more than forty countries, including Spain, the United States, Holland, Mexico, France, Sweden, Belgium, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Cost Rica, Israel, Malta……as well as far away countries such as China, Japan and Indonesia.
