All breeders participating in SICAB are aware of the anti-doping tests taken. At the most recent edition of SICAB, 21 anti-doping tests were performed randomly on horses from among the first three (3) classified in each conformation section and at the various levels of Dressage.

These analyses were carried out in keeping with the Rules & Regulations regarding substance abuse, as approved by the ANCCE Board of Directors on the 4th of November of 2024. Thus, the firm Compluvet, with ample experience and authorized for such testing, was contracted, together with the prestigious LCH laboratory in Paris, with which the FEI collaborates on a regular basis.

Once the analyses were sent to the laboratory, ANCCE received the results: all analyses were negative, except one. This corresponded to the horse "Favorita da Cabaña". This horse placed second in Section 3.

The substance detected was Procaine. According to international equestrian standards, and that having been incorporated into the ANCCE Rules & Regulations, this element is considered a “controlled” substance, based on the list and category of doping substances. 

In the light of this result, the corresponding protocol was activated to guarantee the breeder/owner’s right to legitimate defense. Once this phase concluded, the proposed reprimand was drafted, and the affected party informed.   

The resolution adopted on the 4th of February of 2025 was approved by the Executive Committee. This body confirmed the positive result for the horse “Favorita da Cabaña” a applied the sanctions foreseen in the resolution, and that are summarized below:

1) Remove the horse FAVORITA DA CABAÑA from the place earned in Section 3 of the World Conformation Championship. Therefore, the next horse on the roster moves up to occupy that place in the classification. 
2) The results are published by ANCCE.
3) Exclude the mare Favorita da Cabaña from the Section where it competed.
4) Return all trophies and economic awards granted to the aforementioned mare within five (5) work days after the notification of this current resolution has been received.
5) Prohibit Favorita da Cabaña from competing at any competition as indicated in Article 1 of the Rules & Regulations for Substance Testing for a period of three (3) months as of the date on the notification of the decision issued by the Executive Committee, which concludes the procedure launched due to doping.
