2021 PRE Breeding Stock Catalog Now Available
49 Young Recommended Breeding Horses, 21 Improvers and 11 Elite Breeding Horses included in this latest edition.
As is customary, the PRE Breeding Program issues both a digital and paper version of its 2021 Purebred Spanish Horse Breeding Stock Catalog. This catalog is an essential tool to move forward with the improvement of Spanish Horses, as it lists those stallions and mares that from a genetic point of view, “improve” the breed.
For this year’s Catalog, 140,563 horses were assessed genetically for functional conformation and of these, 17,237 were assessed for Dressage. Upon being genetically assessed, 49 PRE Horses were considered Young Recommended Breeding Stock, 21 as Improver Breeding Stock, and 11 were considered Elite Breeding Horses. The names of these horses are provided below:

ANCCE would like to congratulate all of the breeders with horses listed in any of the Genetic Categories included in this Catalog, as we greatly appreciate your participation in the Breeding Program. Your participation provides important phenotypic data that facilitates a much more reliable genetic assessment. We would like to encourage all breeders to continue participating in the 2022 performance tests and the Young Horse Selection Tests, as it allows new data to be collected, thus optimizing the PRE Breeding Program and the genetic progress of this unique breed. We hope that these joint efforts benefit the improvement of PRE Horses.
