    Five PRE horses earned the consideration as “Excellent,” eleven were “Very Good” while fourteen were “Good”


    16th Young Horse Selection Test Final for Dressage with 67 participating equines

    More than 80% of the participants were Purebred Spanish Horses

    The Young Horse Selection Test Final for Dressage was held from the 26th to the 29th of September at the Granada Equestrian Center. It was sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and coordinated by ANCCE.

    Of the 67 participating horses, 56 were Purebred Spanish Horses; of these, five earned the consideration as Excellent for Dressage. Among the 4-year-olds, PRE Siete de Susaeta, owned by Yeguada Susaeta and ridden by Guillermo Garcia Ayala, earned the maximum category, with the highest average in this final: 76.700%, together with Trapalo de Indalo from Yeguada Indalo (76.500%) and Inspirado BIO III, owned by Yeguada Bionest (75.600%). In the category for 5-year-olds, this same category was earned by two PREs: Velero W from Yeguada Curro Gil, bred by Jose Werner Lopez, and ridden by Francisco Gil Ortiz, and an average of 75.600% and Educado de JJ, owned by Yeguada Varsil and bred by Juan Jose Montes Sanchez (75.400%).

    Among the 4-year-olds, four PRE horses earned the consideration as Very Good for Dressage, while five were 5-year-olds and two were 6-year-olds. Among the 4-year-olds, this category was granted to: Travieso XLV, owned by Yeguada Sola Nogales (73.950%); Triunfador PJ, owned by Miky Borras and bred by Pedro Juanico (73.400%); Quebranto Linares owned by Miky Borras and bred by Linares Ortiz (72.600%), and Jaque Mater from Mater Christi (72.500%). In the case of 5-year-olds, PRE horse Banduendo, owned by Yeguada Río Grande and bred by Andres Cabrera Montero (74.567%); Fandanguero XXIII owned by Yeguada Sola Nogales (74.067%); Altanero CCIII from Yeguada de La Cartuja “Hierro del Bocado” (73.800%); Yermo MG III, owned by Jose Malagelada Cabañas and bred by Yeguada Marin García (73.600%) and Vinatero RJ from Yeguada La Ciervina (72.000%) earned honors. When it came to the 6-year-olds, the category was earned by Brisa DMR, owned by Yeguada Valdesol and bred by Diego Mañas Romera (74.067%) and Cantora de Indalo from Yeguada Indalo (73.867%).

    Three PRE horses in the 4-year-old category were considered Good, as well as seven 5-year-olds and four 6-year-olds. In the case of 4-year-olds, the honors were for Bedules CA from Transportes La Peña de Bejar (71.900%); Fenici DMB, owned by Ganaderia Jurado Marques and bred by Damian Moll Benejam (71.700%) and Suerte de Susaeta from Yeguada Susaeta (70.500%). Among the 5-year-old, Nazareth KP from Yeguada La Angostura (71.600) was considered Good, together with Ejeo YSB from Yeguada Señorio de Bariain (70,800%); Hechicero CLX from Yeguada La Cartuja “El Hierro del Bocado” (70.067%); Brumo II from Yeguada Sola Nogales (69.800%); Barbecho La Bellota, owned by Yeguada Mis and bred by Andres Cabrera Montero (69.533%); Costalero XXV from Jose Antonio Romero Haupold (69.333%) and Festejado XIV from Yeguada La Cartuja “El Hierro del Bocado” (69.067%). Last, but no least, among the 6-year-olds, the honors were for Zagal Azores, owned by Yeguada Azores (71.800%); Montreal KP from Yeguada Angostura (70.600%); Encantado XLIX from Yeguada La Cartuja “El Hierro del Bocado” (70.000%) and Jerarca DFI, owned by Peña del Alba and bred by Hnos. de Frutos Izquierdo (69.100%).

    This Final concludes the 2019 performance tests for Dressage. All horses participating in this test are assessed genetically and may seek the genetic category as Young Recommended Breeding Stock. Horses earning this genetic category appear in the corresponding Breeding Stock Catalog and in the PRE Stud Book which is shared within the scope of the PRE Breeding Program.
