SICAB 2018 reborn to boost the PRE Horse in foreign markets and promote education in the national equestrian sector
The 28th edition of SICAB will be held from the 13th to the 18th of November at FIBES or Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones (Convention Center & Fair Grounds) in Sevilla.
At this 28th edition of SICAB—the International Purebred Spanish Horse Trade Fair—the organizers have invested every effort to promote the Purebred Spanish Horse on international markets while at the same time firmly promoting educational among equestrian professionals in Spain. The event, which will run from the 13th to the 18th of November, welcomes 343 stud farms and 1077 Purebred Spanish Horses to the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos (Convention Center and Fair Grounds) in Sevilla. Today, the event was presented officially at the Carriage Museum in Sevilla, which is the home of the Royal Carriage Driving Club of Andalusia.
Converted into a world-class event on the international equestrian calendar, with more than 200,000 visitors every year to the city of Sevilla, SICAB has laid its stakes on a renovated image and harbors new objectives. Among these are the incorporation of new equestrian disciplines, including the ANCCE Cup Final for Working Equitation, which seeks to “open a new inlet for the Purebred Spanish Horse,” as pointed out by ANCCE President Jose Juan Morales during his intervention.
Following this idea of opening new markets, this edition includes a pilot test that will assess young horses between 2 and 3 years of age. The idea is to detect those up and coming talents with natural abilities for sports. International judges with recognized prestige will be judging these horses; this, in turn, translates into a solid contribution from SICAB to favor the launching and projection of Spanish Horses for new markets and uses.
When it comes to education and training, the International Trade Fair will once again host the 3rd SICAB Campus. The objective is to create a learning environment—totally free of charge—where breeders, enthusiasts and professionals from the equestrian sector have the opportunity to attend any one of the thirty-some technical workshops that will discuss production, nutrition, management, genetic improvements and exports, among other topics of interest.
ANCCE also seeks to reinforce training and education among equestrian professionals throughout Spain to cover stud farm employment demands. This is possible by having standardized and official qualifications for those professionals who are already working in the sector by focusing on their obtaining professional certifications.
SICAB 2018 will be characterized by a new image for breeder stands and the ANCCE stand. In terms of exhibitors and the box stands, the increase seen in the number of stud farms from outside Spain is noteworthy. Not only are there more horses, but also a greater number of stands, with the box stands having doubled their numbers.
Likewise, it is important to note the presence and participation of international master professionals such as Bert Rutten and Simon Curtis, among others, who will be at SICAB 2018.
The Official Inauguration of SICAB 2018 will be the 13th of November at 7:15 in the evening, at FIBES, the Convention Center and Fair Grounds known as Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos in Sevilla.
