    Ferrier Seminar with Simon Curtis at SICAB 2018

    Saturday, the 17th of November at SICAB (Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos (Fairgrounds) in Sevilla)

    Practical sessions in the morning and afternoon about shoeing and trimming hooves.

    Simon Curtis will be teaching a specialized seminar on the 17th of November (Saturday) at SICAB, the International Purebred Spanish Horse Trade Fair in Sevilla. Dedicated in full the shoeing and hoof care, Curtis will present the conclusions of his Doctor’s thesis as the first Doctor on Shoeing in the world. He is professor at the Cambridge Veterinary School and the British Racing School, among others. Sergio Muelle, farrier from Spain living in the United Kingdom, has been working with Simon Curtis for more than a decade and will be on hand to translate the clinic.

    Simon Curtis is from a family of farriers with more than 150 years of history; he is the only farrier who is an Honorary Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in the United Kingdom. He has taught seminars on four continents, including in the USA, Australia, Dubai and India; likewise, he is a member of The Farriers Hall of Fame at the Kentucky Derby Museum and the Victoria Racing Club in Australia, among others. He has written a number of books and articles, which have been translated to several languages.

    The Seminar will cover the following subjects:
    - Personal vision of “shoeing for balance.”
    - Cracks, tears and injuries of the hoof: causes and repairs.
    - Repairing a hoof.
    - Gluing aluminum horseshoes.

    Schedule 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 8 pm

    This seminar is for professional farriers, with preference being given to those who are members of Farrier Associations. Space is limited to twenty students, who will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis. The admission fee for this seminar is €150 plus 21% VAT and it includes a ticket to enter SICAB.
