    Naiara Galíndez riding Altanero CXXXIV earns silver at the Spanish National Junior Championship in U18 (Juveniles) 0*


    Sunday concluded another wonderful and successful edition of the Spanish National Junior Championship. Once again, Centro Ecuestre de Castilla y León was the equestrian epicenter for young Dressage participants. There were 180 riders and 44 PREs competing over the five frenetic days.

    On Thursday, the 6th of September, the competition began with the first classification among Infantil (U14) and Juvenile (U18) teams. Later, all of the participants, with representatives from 15 different regions of Spain, paraded to provide the perfect closing for the inauguration ceremony.

    Regarding first place in Juveniles 0* (U18), the Spanish representative at the European Pony Championship was Naiara Galíndez riding PRE Altanero CXXXIV, owned Yeguada Monte La Llana; they held first place for quite a long time. With an average of 67.774, they concluded in second place. By the same token, she placed second in the second classification with an average of 68.613. In the Final test for Juveniles 0* (U18), in individuals, she swept the medal field; Naiara Galíndez maintained her line with a score of 69.538, thus allowing her to become Reserve Champion of Spain with an accumulated total of 205,925.







    A large number of Purebred Spanish Horses participated in the Championship
    Of the 180 participants, 44 were Purebred Spanish Horses, or 24% of all contestants. Alevines (U12) and Infantiles (U14) were the categories with the greatest number of PRE horses. In Alevines (U12), there were 40 novice riders between the ages of 10 and 12 who courageously rode along the arena. Carmen Mena Bernal riding Aduanero VI, owned by Yeguada Mariano Pérez and bred by Yeguada de la Huerta, performed a very correct Championship to place sixth. Zafiro CVIII, owned by El Rincón, bred by Francisco Lazo and ridden by Ana del Rincón Rizaldos concluded her participation in eighth place on the general roster (12 PRE horses out of 39 participants).

    In Infantiles (U14), María Herrero with her inseparable Picachu (Pontón 1), owned by Queija and bred by Yeguada Señorío de Bariain, placed eighth.

    With six participants in the U25 category, and just shy of the bronze was Impaciente II, Parsifal BRH from Yeguada Benito Rodríguez and ridden by Daniel Pérez. In the category for Young Riders, there were only three PRE participants while in Juveniles there were ten.
