    SICAB surpasses 2016 visitor statistics by 5% as the last day begins


    Box office and online ticket sales indicates a 10% increase during SICAB 2017

    Today, SICAB concludes another successful edition with the participation of 1077 Purebred Spanish Horses from 342 stud farms

    SICAB, the International Purebred Spanish Horse Trade Fair has surpassed by at least 5% the number of visitors at the onset of Sunday, the last day of the event, when compared to the 2016 statistics. This data confirms the positive increase in ticket sales, which was already visible the weeks prior to the commencement of SICAB 2017 with online ticket sales. The final results regarding visitors at SICAB17 will be confirmed in short, including all those who visited the International PRE Trade Fair since it was inaugurated on the 14th of November.

    Thus, SICAB 2017 concludes another successful edition that has enjoyed the participation of 1077 Purebred Spanish Horses (PRE) from 342 stud farms. In fact, horse sales doubled when compared to last year. Breeders and visitors came from all over the world: Japan, China, Costa Rica, Colombia, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Mexico and the United States to mention a few.

    Extensive institutional backing

    SICAB 2017 has enjoyed ample institutional backing with visits from the Ministry of Interior, Government representative and responsible for national security and the armed forces, among other important authorities. Equally important were the many personalities from the world of sports, press, fashion or bullfighting; among these, the winners of the PRE, Pura Raza Española Awards, or the SICAB 2017 Honorary Ambassadors announced the previous day.

    The impressive coverage of SICAB is noteworthy. More than 350 journalists from 11 countries were accredited for the event.

    In addition to the coverage by external journalists, SICAB’s own audience and exposure must be mentioned. To date, with tentative statistics in hand indicate:

    SICAB Radio, online broadcast that premiered just this year, had, to date, 57,450 live accesses via streaming. All in all, 117 guests sat in front of our microphones throughout the week, during which 38 hours of live broadcasts were offered, from 10 am on Tuesday the 14th of November until today, Sunday, at 3 pm.

    SICAB TV, the trade fair’s own online TV channel, has once again broadcast life on its TV website www.sicab.tv. The channel offers the full program of events, permanently available to viewers. Thus, anyone, anywhere in the world may access all of the various competitions and other activities taking place at SICAB.

    SICAB TV statistics for 2017 show that there were 368,451 viewers from more than 80 countries, who enjoyed more than 140 hours of broadcast. It is noteworthy that the quality of these broadcasts improved greatly this year with a new platform for live feeds.

    Social networks and SICAB—Facebook, Twitter and Instagram—have also playing a cutting-edge role when disseminating information from and about the International PRE Trade Show throughout the world, and with a noticeable increase over 2016. Facebook is the fastest growing social network: from October 1 to November 19 of this year, there have been 2187 new followers, while in this year 2017, in that same timespan, there have been 5324 new followers.

    When it comes to Facebook, SICAB currently has 27,923 followers; Twitter has 6560 followers while in Instagram has more than 12,200 (2000 new followers in the last two weeks).
