    SICAB sells 50% more online tickets by October than in 2016. A record number of visitors are expected.


    Today, at the official presentation of the International Purebred Spanish Horse Trade Fair, it was announced that UNICEF, journalist Ángel Expósito, Vicente del Bosque, chef Ángel León, athlete Eva Moral and mounted bull fighter Diego Ventura are but a few of the award winners at SICAB 2017.

    ANCCE foresees an economic impact on the city of Sevilla of some 40 million euros during SICAB. Each edition focused 47% of all annual Purebred Spanish Horse business, which ranges around 92 million euros.

    This morning, ANCCE, the National Purebred Spanish Horse Breeders’ Association, presented the 27th edition of SICAB at the Royal Carriage Club in Sevilla. ANCCE expects to break all attendance records thanks to the notable increase of online ticket sales. As of October 31st, statistics were 50% higher than at the previous edition.

    SICAB is the third most important event in the city of Sevilla. It will be held from the 14th to the 19th of November at FIBES, the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones (Fair grounds and Convention Center) in Sevilla.

    During the official presentation of SICAB, speakers included, and by order: the President of ANCCE, Juan Tirado; Specialized Business Manager for Caja Rural del Sur (Savings & Loan Bank), José Carlos Lagares; Manager at Helvetia Seguros (insurance) for Research and Market Development, Francisco Astola; the General Manager of the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones (fair grounds) in Sevilla (FIBES), Jesús Rojas; Chief of Agricultural Production for the Andalusian Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Development, Rafael Bazán, and the Alderman for Urban Habitat, Culture and Tourism at the Sevilla City Hall, Antonio Muñoz.



    During the presentation, ANCCE offered a preview of the latest innovations at this edition. Some of the SICAB 2017 awards that honor distinguished personalities for their work or career based on virtues seen in Purebred Spanish Horses were announced. Among these are UNICEF (Nobleza PRE), journalist Ángel Expósito (Expresión PRE), Cadena COPE (radio) news coordinator and anchor for La Tarde de COPE; former national soccer trainer Vicente del Bosque (Grandeza PRE); Chef Ángel León (Alta Escuela PRE), who has earned two Michelin stars and three Repsol suns; athlet Eva del Moral (Coraje PRE), Spanish National Handbike Champion in time trail and route and Spanish National Triathlon Champion; mounted bull-fighter Diego Ventura (Arte PRE) and actor Mario Cimarro (Pasión PRE).


    Economic Impact

    ANCCE is expecting to see an economic impact of about 40 million euros for the city of Sevilla. This estimate is based on the growth of the International PRE Trade Fair, consolidates as the most important Purebred Spanish Horse showcase in the world.

    “SICAB has been held in Sevilla, uninterrupted since 1991 and it is the third most importance event for the city thanks to the number of visitors and its economic impact,” denoted the President of ANCCE, Juan Tirado during his speech. SICAB 2017 will welcome more than 1000 Purebred Spanish Horses (PRE) from over 300 national and international stud farms.

    According to the statistics for Spain, the direct sales of PRE products throughout the year translate into a turnover of 92 million euros. In this regard, during each edition of SICAB—considered the two weeks prior to and after the actual event—“47% of all transactions take place during this period. This is a true indicator of the dynamics of SICAB for this sector.” Spain is the birthplace of the Purebred Spanish Horse, from where it has expanded to be bred in more than 65 countries.


    Competitions and Institutional Support

    The 3rd World PRE Stallion and Mare Championship will be held during SICAB 2017 in addition to the ANCCE Cup for Dressage. These competitions counts on the very best participating horses from all over the world, which have qualified previously at the more than 60 Conformation and Dressage Competitions held throughout the year in Spain and a number of other countries, including the USA, Mexico, France, Guatemala and Nicaragua, among others.

    Likewise, SICAB will house the ANCCE Cups for Doma Vaquera, Spanish High School, Carriage Driving, and Show Jumping, as well as the Exhibition, Side-Saddle and Breeder Competitions, plus the daily Equestrian Show.

    Since the creation of SICAB, the National Purebred Spanish Horse Breeders’ Association has organized the event, and has counted on the backing of Spain’s Royal Family, with His Majesty King Felipe VI of Borbon as the Honorary President.
