SICAB 2017: Newsletter breeder information
As you very well know, SICAB 2016 is just around the corner. Being that you are a member of ANCCE, this newsletter seeks to provide you with essential information regarding important aspects of your presence at the event.
1. PASSES & INVITATIONS
Each full-fledged member of ANCCE will receive—under the condition that he/she is in good standing with all economic obligations: ANCCE:
• Two (2) passes that grant access, each for one (1) person, to all of those areas reserved to members of ANCCE at SICAB. These Passes may be picked up at the ANCCE office, located in Pavilion 1 of FIBES (the Convention Center and Fair Grounds) as of Sunday, the 12th of November. To avoid unnecessary waiting, go directly to the window with the sign “SOCIOS ANCCE” (ANCCE Members). Remember that your ANCCE Membership Pass provides access to the Show—there is a grandstand reserved for members—on Tuesday the 14th, Wednesday the 15th, Thursday the 16th, Friday the 17th and Saturday the 18th at both the afternoon and evening shows, until seating capacity is reached. The grandstand for the morning shows on Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th will be sold to the general public.
To collect your Pass, you need to show some type of official ID (National ID, Passport or drivers’ license). If another person will be picking up your pass, he/she must bring a signed authorization and a copy of the member’s ID.
• Two (2) invitations for you to access SICAB facilities and collect your Pass. These invitations will be included in the next newsletter.
• One (1) invitation to the SICAB 2017 inaugural show; each invitation is for two (2) people. This show will be on Tuesday, the 14th of November at 8:00 p.m. This too will be sent with the next newsletter.
• A booklet of tickets, valid for thirty (30) refreshments, free-of-charge at the ANCCE stand. In this regard, remember that:
o Each ticket is valid for one (1) beer, one (1) soft drink or one (1) glass of wine.
o Should you wish a stronger alcoholic beverage (highball or similar), the exchange rate is five (5) tickets per beverage.
o Breeders may purchase a further 30-ticket booklet at the ANCCE office for €30.
2. AREAS & EVENTS RESERVED TO MEMBERS OF ANCCE
• Welcome Cocktail: As at previous editions, all members of ANCCE are invited to a welcome cocktail that the Association offers to its members. This event will take place at the ANCCE Stand on Wednesday, the 15th of November at 1:30 pm. UNTIL THEN, THE STAND WILL NOT BE OPEN AND OPERATING.
• Reserved grandstands around the Conformation Arena (Pavilion 1) and in the show pavilion (Pavilion 3, for all shows, except the Saturday and Sunday morning Shows). Access is only possible when your present your Breeder Pass.
• Access to the show pavilion: As has been the case at previous editions, to facilitate member access to the show in Pavilion 3, you may take the hall from the main dome. Remember that you must show your Pass.
• At the main gate of the Convention Center and Fair Grounds, and so that you avoid waiting in line, there is a specific access reserved for Breeders. It is the door to the extreme right, and will be indicated with a sign.
• Members who make early reservations may go to the show on Wednesday, the 15th or Thursday the 16th with up to four (4) people. Request this special reservation by sending an email to ancce@ancce.com.
• Members may purchase up to twenty (20) invitations to access the grounds at a special price—€8—at the ANCCE office in Pavilion 1.
• Members may reserve a cloakroom locker. These are located near the ANCCE office (limited numbers). Rental for the six days of the event is €15.
Please note that the Organizers may withdraw Passes and invitations if and when abuse is detected.
3. RULES FOR BOX SEATS
In the light of the complaints received from Box Seat users and breeders in general, special attention will be paid regarding access and use, with the following rules being applied:
• Breeders who have reserved Box Seats in Pavilion 1 will receive six (6) Access Passes to this area.
• Box Seats are perfectly identified and have a capacity for six (6) people. THIS LIMIT CANNOT BE SURPASSED.
• WHILE AT THE BOX SEATS, MEMBERS ARE ASKED TO REMAIN SEATED AT ALL TIMES, WITHOUT USING ADJACENT SPACES. PLEASE BEHAVE IN SUCH A WAY THAT YOU DON’T BOTHER THOSE IN OTHER BOXES NOR INTERFERE WITH THE SMOOTH RUNNING OF THE CONFORMATION COMPETITION IN THE ARENA BELOW.
• Accessing the Box Seat with food and/or beverage is forbidden. There is a catering service on hand to attend guests in Box Seats.
• The access and exit schedule is as follow:
o Access: 15 minutes prior to the daily commencement of the first competition.
o Exit: At the conclusion of the competition or at 12:00 pm (midnight) when the entire area is vacated and the pavilion is closed.
• Behavior that is contrary to these rules for the good usage of the Box Seats may lead the Organizing Committee to canceling access to the area.
• In any case, failure to comply with the established rules will lead to automatic refusal to renew Box Seats at future editions.
4. STANDS
Breeder stands must be up and running before 8 am on the 14th of November, when SICAB opens its gates.
• The usage of microphones and amplifiers is strictly forbidden in such case that live music has been contracted. Under no circumstance may music begin prior to the conclusion of the Conformation Competitions in the Pavilion arena where these stands are located.
• Due to safety concerns, stalls with horses—stallions or mares—in the actual Breeder Stand, are strictly forbidden.
• Breeders who have reserved in the Breeder Pavilion will receive:
o 3 Exhibitor Passes for each 16m2 contracted, up to a maximum of 9 passes.
o 1 Parking Pass
o 1 invitation for each m2 contracted, up to a maximum of 70 invitations.
• Breeder Pavilion, including all Breeder Stands, will close at 12:00 pm (midnight), which coincided with the closing of the Pavilion.
• Having private security that hinders access to the Breeder Stands is strictly forbidden. Should you wish to have a reserved area within the actual stand, you must request it from the stand assembly firm.
• Failure to comply with these measures could lead to Organizing Committee closing the stand.
5. PRESENTATION COMPETITION RESERVED TO BREEDERS
This year, the initiative launched at previous editions in which the actual breeder presents his/her horses has been maintained. This competition will take place on the date and at the time, yet to be announced, in the Conformation Arena in Pavilion 1. Any full-fledged member of ANCCE may enter this competition. The prerequisites are as follows:
• Entry is free-of-charge.
• The horse/s presented must be entered in any one of the other activities held at SICAB.
• There will be four (4) different awards:
o Best presentation in hand.
o Best presentation of a 3 or 5-mare cobra.
o Best presentation under saddle.
o Best presentation hitched to a carriage.
• Each participant has a maximum of four (4) minutes to execute the presentation in the arena.
• The judges will be announced once the entry deadline has concluded.
• The decision by the judges is unquestionable.
• The deadline to enter horses, once you have filled out the form included herein, is Wednesday, the 8th of November.

6. ENTERING HORSES FOR PUBLIC EXHIBITION AND SALE
Full-fledged member who have entered horses in any of the various SICAB categories (competition or exhibition) may present them in the arena in Pavilion 1 on a given day. These may be presented in hand or under saddle for approximately four (4) minutes. The presentation will have a PA system to provide basic information about the horse, in both Spanish and English, without including the sale price (age, family tree, awards, level of training, etc.). The screen will show the owner’s contact information.
There will be a catalog with pictures and data of all horses for sale in this category on our web site www.sicab.org
[PDF] Entering horses for public exhibition and sale
Included herein is the entry for this, the deadline for which is Friday, the 3rd of November. The entry fee for this activity is €50 (+ 21% IVA). Any horse entered in this category IS NOT subject to later changes, once the entry deadline has been reached.
The number of horses presented is limited to arena availability, with a maximum of two (2) per stud farm and on a first-come-first-serve entry basis.
7. SICAB EDUCATIONAL CAMPUS
Due to the success last year, a series of conferences will once again be offered—free of charge—for SICAB breeders and guests. These conferences will take place at specifically designated area in the Marquee for Mares. A number of general interest topics discussing everyday PRE breeder and enthusiast activities will be covered and: traveling with horses, nutrition, training and presentation, managing a stud farm, savings, export paperwork, etc.
The actual program will be sent to breeders and announced publicly before and during SICAB.
8. SILVER TRIBUTE MEMBERS
As was the case last year we would once again like to honor those members who have continually been full-fledged members for the past 25 years.
They will be given a commemorative pin by the President on Friday, the 17th of November at 1:00 pm. Likewise, those who could not collect their pin last year, may do so.
9. PARKING
Please be informed that there is no free parking available at the Zona Este Shopping Center.
You may purchase a Parking Pass inside the covered and supervised parking lot at FIBES, valid for the entire week of SICAB, from Monday the 13th to Sunday, the 19th. The price of this pass is thirty-five euros (€35).
This Parking Pass for the FIBES Parking Lot may be purchased at the ANCCE office in Pavilion 1 until Thursday, November 16 th. This Parking Pass offer is limited, so sign up now!
