Day 1 Ermelo 2017: Poeta de Susaeta concludes the Preliminary for 5-year olds with an average of 7.44

World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Dressage Horses

The first tests at the World Dressage Championships for Young Horses began at 9:30 am (Central European time). In the category for 5-year olds, a black PRE, Poeta de Susaeta from Yeguada Susaeta and ridden by Guillermo García is representing Spain.

Despite the rain, horse and rider entered the arena at 11:15 in the morning to perform a very correct test that earned them a 7.44 average. The horse’s long walk was especially outstanding; he offered vibrant movements at canter and his presentation was extraordinary.

The technical scores granted by the judges were: 8.0 at Trot, 7.0 at walk, 7.2 at canter, 7.5 for submission and 7.5 for perspective (future). For now, these averages place horse and rider in 9th place on the general roster. Another nine pairs have yet to compete today, and the rest will be in the arena tomorrow, between 09:30 and 12:27.

We will be keeping an eye on the final scores!
