General SICAB 2016 Information
As is customary this time of year, preparations for SICAB 2016, the International Purebred Spanish Horse Trade Fair and home of the 2nd World Championship, are well underway. I hope that this newsletter is of interest to you as it provides advance information regarding SICAB:
DATES
The 26th edition of SICAB will be held from the 15th to the 20th of November at the Convention Center and Fair Grounds known as Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones in Sevilla (Spain).
OFFICIAL SICAB CATALOG
We are currently drafting the Official SICAB Catalog; businesses and stud farms wanting to be included may now do so. The deadline for the inclusion of advertising and sending originals is October 15 (Saturday). A link with all of the information regarding fees and rates for publicity, whether a member or not of ANCCE, is provided below. Remember that there is limited space for stud farms, so it is to your benefit to reserve as soon as possible.
BREEDER STAND
As has been the case in previous years, breeder stands will be housed in Pavilion 1, across from the Conformation Arena. Should you be interested in reserving a stand, please formalize your request, send in the form and make the corresponding deposit of six hundred euros (€600) into the Account with IBAN ES22 3187 0812 8010 9498 7227, which corresponds to Caja Rural (Savings & Loan Bank). Remember that should you cancel your reservation, this is a non-refundable deposit. The deadline for reservations is Thursday, the 15th of September.
When it comes to confirming your stand and its location, priority is given to those breeders who had a stand at previous editions. Requests will be attended on a first-come-first-serve basis once payment has been received. As of Thursday, the 15th of September, breeders who have had a stand in the past, but who have failed to finalize their reservation, will lose all acquired rights; that space may then be granted to another breeder who has requested a stand but lacks the seniority of previous events.
Set up, timetables, specifics and general use are listed on the actual contract, which will be sent to you in due course.
Two-story stands or a stand that is elevated above ground level will be charged an additional 60% surcharge over the standard price of the stand. Maximum surface area is limited to eighty square meters (80m2).
Stands for SICAB sponsors have their own specifics regarding set up and conditions.
In such case that your stand offers refreshments, remember that according to the current legislation of Spain regarding employment and health issues, those working as waiter/waitress must be registered with the Social Security department as employees and have a food-handling license. Failure to comply with this legislation is the sole responsibility of the contracting breeder.
Likewise, please remember that the following:
a) The use of loudspeakers and sound equipment, should live music be used, are prohibited.
b) Having security to hinder or limit access to a stand is strictly forbidden.
Failure to comply with these rules gives way to automatic and immediate closing of the stand.

One option that was lunched at previous editions will be repeated this year: Breeder Boxes. These boxes are located in the stands around the arena in Pavilion 1. They include a table, six chairs and catering service. The fee for the six days of SICAB is eight hundred and fifty euros (€850) plus 21% VAT. This special price is for full-fledged members of ANCCE. Should space be available, this possibility will be offered to non-members at a price of fifteen hundred euros (€1500) plus 21% VAT.
The deadline to renew your breeder box—for those who had a box in 2015—is Thursday, the 15th of September.
You may also renew the same location! To formalize your reservation, you must deposit 50% of the full fee. Once the deadline has passed, new requests will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis. You may reserve one box per stud farm; should boxes be available, you may then reserve additional boxes. Selecting the location of your breeder box is on a first-come-first-serve basis once payment has been received. Access to breeder boxes with food and beverages other than those provided by the catering is prohibited.
