Not only is it beautiful and obedient, but the Purebred Spanish Horse is also a good athlete. At the Atlanta ’96 Olympic Games, the Spanish team included three PREs; that was true motivation for the breed in Dressage. The ease with which the horses performed collected and elevated paces (highly difficult for other breeds) placed the breed in the spotlight. In addition to this fact, one must consider its good personality, pronounced submission and its extensive capacity for work. PRE horses are appreciative animals; they give their all and enjoy what they are doing, which is a major advantage over other breeds, which often avoid work by continual confrontation with trainers. Spanish horses are outstanding in Dressage thanks to their determination and the fusion of their movements with their natural elegance and beauty.
